I remembered how lilies grow today
from a tuber to a bold green stem
with the promise of flowers
on the way

and then they bloom;

and they fill the room with their heavenly scent
and when they get hurt ~ damaged and bent,
another glorious flower by magic is sent
and balance is restored.
