Today I spent the afternoon with my good friend Jackie, who is also learning silversmithing. We were seeing if we could rise to the challenge of reproducing a brooch in the shape of a fork for the ‘shovellers and forkers’ association. We managed to get quite a long way with it – by the time I left the fork was done and just needs polishing and then the pin soldering on. This is how it was looking before we soldered the handle on.
